honorable mention: craigslist

BEES! Please take them!

My 9-year-old grandson just called my attention to a CLUSTER OF BEES approximately the size of a football in a magnolia tree (about 10 feet from the ground) in the yard between my house and my daughter's house. Is there a bee-keeper out there who would want to collect them? If I don't hear from someone tonight, I will have to call the City Hall in the morning to see how they advise getting rid of them. Can't have them hanging around here--don't want to take a chance on them attacking either of my grandkids, or my elderly parents (ages 82 and 91) who also live on the same piece of property. SO FAR THE BEES HAVE NOT SHOWN AGGRESSION, SO HOPEFULLY THEY ARE NOT THE AFRICANIZED VARIETY, BUT I WANT THEM GONE!!! IF NO ONE WANTS THEM, THEY DIE BY WHATEVER MEANS THE CITY RECOMMENDS.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE THESE BEES....RESPOND ASAP.

Studio Space Available

We currently have one open studiospace upstairs.
Studio runs $300 a month. Includes 24/7 access to gallery & free wifi.
This a great opportunity to get involved in downtown LA's emerging art scene and be around other serious artists.

If you are interested in seeing the space you can send an email to
julie@thehivegallery and we can set up a time. Please include
some examples of your work or a link to your website.

Join our Flickr group

The Hive Gallery has created a group on flickr for our artists to upload photos of their artwork. We want you to be able to some input of what we are putting out there. Upload as many as you like and leave contact information so folks can contact you. This is a good way for everyone to stay connected and see what others are working on.

You can also post your pictures from our events here...

If you tag the photos as "The Hive Gallery & Studios" then they will also come up on the slideshow at the top of our blog.
