We are trying to hammer out the details for the March show here at The Hive. Today Christopher Ulrich stopped by with his 'beloved' Melinda. They brought in some sketches and photos of the "Demoneater" project Christopher has been working on. Ulrich is an amazingly talented visionary and we are super siked to have him cemented as a featured artist in our show next month.
Melinda tells me that The Demoneater concept is the first of three projects that Ulrich has in mind. She also tells me that the paintings are life-size and each one comes with a 'key' which is 2 x 2 ft.
We currently have one of Ulrich's paintings displayed in the group show that is running til the end of the month. Come down for a preview of what's to come next month and check out the new photography work we have by Stephan Canthal.

The Hive is fundraising...
Tiziano Launches Monthly Cultural Series in Los Angeles
We are pleased to announce of a monthly cultural series at The Hive Gallery and Studios. On the evening of the last Thursday of every month we will be having a cultural event and fundraiser...
The Tiziano Project is a not-for-profit dedicated to empowering people in underrepresented communities around the world with professional journalism skills. We teach people how to tell their stories using digital technology. We provide cameras, laptops and the opportunity for our students to be trained by professional journalists and find jobs in new media.
Tiziano is currently operating bureaus in Rwanda, DR Congo and has run pilot programs in Kenya, Iraq and in the Los Angeles juvenile prison system. CNN has partnered with our student journalists for live webcam interviews in several of these locations.
We now invite you to help us expand our work into the Near East.

Wednesday Movie Night Reminder
"The Trip" 1967
Peter Fonda portrays a director for t.v. commercials and is in the middle of a personality crisis because his wife, played by Susan Strasberg, has left him. Fonda seeks out help from a friend, Bruce Dern, a self-appointed guru who's a huge advocate of LSD. Then Paul asks John to guide him on his first "trip". While taking the acid Paul experiences visions of sex, death, dancing girls, witches, hooded riders, a torture chamber, and even a dwarf. You know all the appropriate accessories to a LSD flick and great for the visionary mind frame.
You could watch it in eight different parts on youtube, but you'll have to wait for it to load eight different times. So why not come down and join us for this cult classic? We invite you to BYOB!
You'll get a sneak peak at the new show that's going up for Saturday. This also means you may have to excuse the mess.
